Greg Dulli is releasing a new album, Dynamite Steps, with The Twilight Singers on Feb. 15, but far more interesting is the fact that he and fellow Gutter Twin Mark Lanegan are backing loathed Clipper owner Donald Sterling in his campaign to smear Baron Davis. In a recent interview, Dulli characterized Davis as "lazy" and a "rip-off who signed a big contract and never came to play." Hope springs eternal, however; Dulli characterized Clippers Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon as special. Though Dulli says that he's a long suffering Clippers fan, there's no need to be dishing out the hater tots. Odds are Baron Davis won't write a negative review of Dulli's album. [Spin]
As a fellow long-time Clippers fan, Sterling & Dulli aren't all that incorrect. I still got love for Davis (even own a jersey!) but you never know who is going to show up for a game or let alone, a season. Griffin and Gordon ARE special and Deandre Jordan is coming into his own. With a healthy, energetic and veteran leader like Davis, the Clips could at least be a .500 team...question is: does Davis even believe this himself.
