The votes are in, and the loyal readers of Rolling Stone have spoken: Green Day's American Idiot is the #1 comeback album of all time. While my initial reaction was to infer an insane lack of perspective (and a voter base that's getting younger and younger), pretty much every single other selection on the list is the choice of an older fan. I mean three of these people are dead, and seven of these albums were released before 1990. Off the top of my head I can think of Common's Be, Sonic Youth's Murray Street, Al Green's Just Can't Stop, Mission of Burma's OnOffOn and Steely Dan's Two Against Nature as some great comeback/reunion albums I woulda liked to see on the list (and Suffocation's Souls To Deny but that's wishful thinking).
