Via Billboard:This whole carbon neutral thing is really catching on. I wonder if I'm carbon neutral. Is flatulence carbon-based?
Keeping with the musician-as-activist tradition, many bands will be celebrating Earth Day (April 22nd, and you're officially evil if you didn't know that) by taking part in the second annual Green Apple Music and Arts Festival. The fest will be a three-headed affair, with gigs going down in New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago.
The Big Apple will have The Radiators, Junior Brown, Fat Mama, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Laurie Berkner, Edwin McCain, Tom Paxton and Richard Shindell, and you're American Idol Taylor Hicks performing at various venues.
Frisco's installment will take place in Golden Gate Park with Trans Am, Bob Weir & Ratdog, Stephen Marley, Martin Sexton, Yonder Mountain String Band, Tea Leaf Green, and the Greyboy Allstars.
Chi-Town gets the Disco Biscuits, Umphrey's McGee, and Paul Green's School of Rock at Lincoln Park Zoo during the day, then RJD2, Andrew Bird, the Decemberists, Kaiser Chiefs, the Walkmen, Mad Professor, and Del McCoury appearing in different places around town.
The event's organizers claim that, in all, the festival will be the biggest carbon neutral event of its kind.
