The 2010 Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at the end of this month, and part of the prepartions for the ceremony include a massive posthumous celebration of the life and career of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, including a lifetime achievement award. The celebration will center around a 3-D music video clip that the singer created for the track "Earth Song," which Billboard describes as "a call to action about the destruction of nature and animals by man."
Artists including Usher, Celine Dion, and Smokey Robinson will all perform alongside the clip. Viewers can experience the 3-D video by picking up free 3-D glasses from any Target store starting this Sunday, Jan. 24, until Jan. 31, when the Grammy Awards will air at 8pm EST.
A massive 3-D experience used to promote visuals that admonishes the human race for their treatment of the environment? One that several prominent celebrities will be directly involved in? The evidence is in, people, Michael Jackson was an Avatar. But, like, in reverse. [Billboard]
