The Grammys experienced big ratings this weekend, but the real benefit for the recording industry and the bands involved is the vaunted Grammy bump, the post-show increase in album sales. The Grammy bump was only able to work its magic on two days of sales, but it made it count: Mumford & Sons, who appeared on the show, lept all the way to number two on the charts this week, selling 52,000 copies of their Sigh No More album, which experienced a doubling in sales this week. The Arcade Fire's Suburbs also experienced a huge jump, leaping by 95 percent, selling 12,000 copies. That's not much, but a 95 percent increase is ridonkulous. Muse, Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa and Eminem all scored huge increases as well. [AV Club]
