Perez Hilton is reporting via CNN's Political Ticker that at Tuesday's weekly GOP conference meeting, members of the party got to view a video parody of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" rewritten as an anti-government-spending tirade, "Just Tax."
The satire is the brainchild of Peter Cowman, a 23-year-old University of Washington graduate. It was apparently screened courtesy of Rep. Dave Reichert, who (through a spokesperson) said he wanted to show colleagues the video to encourage them to get young people involved in the GOP. According to the CNN story, most GOP-ers had never heard of Ms. Gaga.
Besides seeing a square-looking dude attempt to be hip, this video has a few genuinely telling and/or funny moments. For instance, though "Just Tax" trots out the usual GOP complaints against Democrat overspending, Cowman also points a finger at former President Bush for doing the same thing (at 0:49) and uses a photo to back up his lyric "I've seen this same old type of overspending before." Wonder how that went over with Republican hardliners.
Also, at about 1:20, is that an (inadvertently) profane hand movement he makes? Just asking.

If this is how the GOP is spending its time, the majority is safe for the time being.
