Via NME:Gypsy punk ensemble Gogol Bordello are close to being finished with their new album, Super-Taranta. The album gets its name from a form of traditional Italian music that used to be played to try to free women from their hysteria. Eugene Hutz and company received production help on the album from Victor Van Vugt, who has also worked with PJ Harvey and Nick Cave. Hutz says the new album has a more accomplished sound since the often in flux band has now settled down to a corps of eight members. He adds that new bassist Tommy Gobena has brought a bit of a dub sound to Gogol Bordello's palate.
