Is it metal? Is it post-rock? Is it space travel? Quit yer classifyin’ son, and just bask in the cathartic release of one of Goes Cube’s anthems du heavy. Speaking of release, the Brooklyn trio’s got a new one out on The End Records on May 12th. It’s called Another Day Has Passed, and it rocks balls, and it’s the band’s first full-length after a string of sold-out EPs. This is not the type of metal to “own your soul,” but lordy is there ever some fist-pumping hesherdom scattered across the album’s 13 tracks, and in drummer Kenny Appell (leftmost in the picture) I have a new favorite metal beard. That’s some Hammurabi-style facial hair right there.
A couple downloadable sneak peaks from the new album can be had at Stereogum.com.
