There has been some doubt as to whether Canadian post rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor had broken up—but whether they have technically reunited or not is of little concern to the band’s fans, because they have just been announced as the curator of ATP in the U.K. over the weekend of December 3-5.
According to the band’s website, they will be playing "a handful of British and European shows, and then nine American shows. "Until further introspection, WE WILL NOT BE FIELDING ANY OTHER OFFERS,” the statement continues. “Nor will we be doing interviews.”
So don’t expect too much information to flow from the Godspeed camp, especially as they consider the Internet to be a “tyrannical monster.” That hasn’t stopped them from using the ‘net to make this announcement of course, and keep an eye on this page for details of that ATP lineup in the forthcoming months. Bands announced so far include Bardo Pond, Deerhoof, the Ex and Mike Watt.
