The relentless touring undertaken to promote Glasvegas’ eponymously titled debut album appears to have taken its toll on singer James Allan. His bandmates have claimed in an interview that Allan was last seen on Friday (Sept. 4) when the group flew back from a festival appearance in Italy.
“The last I've seen of him was at the airport," said guitarist Rab Allan in an NME interview. "I got told today he's ill. Missing in action? Yeah something like that." The band cancelled a scheduled appearance at the Mercury Music Prize ceremony last night (Sept. 8).
“We don't think he's in Glasgow,” Allan said. “Our manager is in Glasgow and he hasn't heard from him. We thought he would turn up at the Mercury Prize at the last minute. I miss him. The message is: James please get in touch." Glasvegas are scheduled to support Kings of Leon on a U.S. tour beginning on Sept. 10.
