That track is actually dope. What did Prince say about Timberlake? I find it more humorous that Prince is starting a beef with anyone this old-ass washed up stage of his career. I mean, dude doesn't even have enough material to cover a Super Bowl halftime show. You just don't mess with JT right now. It's bad karma. Just look at the path of destruction he leaves in his path (Britney, K-Fed, and did you see how jacked up Diaz looked at the Oscars?). Haha.

You have got to be kidding me. Prince has more talent in his left nut then JT will ever have. All of the JT's music is created by his producers such as Timbaland/or whoever else he needs to make his music acceptable to everyone. You can credit JT for the singing and dancing and thats it. He's a pop star which equates to an ok singer and dancer who needs others to make him successful. Prince is a musical genius who is respected widely in every music genre. He can play multiple instruments and he writes and produces his own material and other's as well. Just listeneng to JT's album you can hear Prince influence in almost every track. Oh-and there is no beef between the two. I dont think JT is stupid enough to make fun of the most talented musicians of all time.

It doesn't matter what Prince said or didn't say about Mr. Timberlake. Prince's accomplishments can speak for itself. Multi-instrumentalist, classic albums, world-renowned and respected. Can you say the same for Justin? I'm a big fan of JT, but Prince is levels above him at this point. JT is a great entertainer, gets/picks great beats, but Prince is a legend/genius. Prince's guitar licks are even better than the majority of rock musicians out there.

Why dont you come up with reasons that JT is so great. Where does his talents lye? I was at the recent JT show with my fiance who is a big fan and I wasnt impressed at all. In fact the show got horrible reviews by every newspaper in the city. It all seemed like a gimmick. There wasnt much talent to be seen except JT's choreographed dancing and subpar singing. Also his pretend guitar playing was hilarious and having the choruses pre-recorded all of which was topped off with the worst stage in history. Forget forget for a minute that Prince is a musical genius and is one of the greatest guitarists of our time. Forget that he writes and records more songs in a year than Justin Timberlake has done in his entire career. Lets look at pop chart and sales success.Prince first entered the charts in 1978. His last song in the top 10 was The Most Beautiful Girl In the World, which was the #3 song in the country in 1995 or 1996 (I was in high school, I can't remember). That's longer than JT will be on the charts (his N*Sync stuff doesn't count- no one knew who he was back then). Prince had the #1 album in the country, the #1 single, and the #1 movie in the country (which was his acting debut) with Purple Rain. Only Eminem has been able to do the same. Two years ago, Prince finished his Musicology Tours, one of the biggest selling tours of all time. JT's little tour he is doing now won't even come close. I like JT songs and I listen to his new album all the time, but he's no Prince and he knows it.

Don't forget that in 1992 and 93, Prince had three top 10 songs (Cream, Dianmonds and Pearls, Gett Off), and one #1 (Cream) song. That album was on the radio all the time.

Pretty much all of you are in your 40's-50's because most of you are still talking about how big Prince's songs were, back in the 70's. What doesnt matter is the number of instruments Prince can master, it's who's doing better (present day). Justin had three back-to-back #1's, all of which are from ONE album. As for Prince, he hasn't had a #1 song (refferal is the billboard charts) since the 80's. If he were to make a comeback, he would have to deal with all the big artists such as Fergie, Akon, Gwen Stefani, and Beyonce. I am in my late 30's and have been a Prince fan since I was 11 years old (you do the math). I will always feel that Prince is a brilliant musician, performer and thinker. There really is no way to compare JT to Prince. Prior to this little beef, I had only good things to say about Justin, even though folks were talking badly about the way he dissed Janet J. during the Superbowl titty mishap. When I learned that he started this beef with Prince by talking about his "short" stature, yes, I was annoyed. Not only because I adore Prince, but also because it was simply disrespectful and unnecessary. Sure, we can go back and forth and say that JT is hot "today," but in reality, he will NEVER become the performer that Prince was/is and he will never contribute as much as Prince has to the music industry. When I listen to the 1999 album, which is in my car at this very moment, the pure genius of the man is clearly portrayed--awesome musical arrangements and outstanding foresight into world politics and religion. No comparison whatsoever!

I have been reading these comments and I have to weigh in here. I was in the ninth grade when Prince was cool. I even went to see Purple Rain at the MOVIE THEATRE. (Gasp! I'm old. LOL) Just for the record, someone said Prince has to still be great because he won a grammy. Uh, all the "old dudes" win the grammy when they are up for it. Metallica lost to Jethro Tull!! Even Metallica laughed at that one. I mean Jethro might have been great in his day but he isn't exactly CURRENT. Next, Prince was awesome....in his day. We had never seen or heard anything like him. He opened a lot of doors in the eighties. He was a wonderful change during the "british invasion" BUT that was then. I have been very unimpressed with the music he has put out since the eighties. He lost his mojo so to speak, in my view. Justin in great, too....in HIS time. And this IS his time just as it was Prince's time back in the day. I think that Justin is entertaining and his music is great to get you moving. (dancing, exercising, etc.) The thing is, what your comparing is apples and oranges. Both of these artists have their places. Prince had his and now JT is having his. That's just the natural progression. Do current artist "borrow" from old ones? Ofcourse. I for one tribute anyone that involves a good production, regardless of stabs or otherwise. I think it's an awesome track, and stabs aside, it should be where it is on the charts. It's phenomenally produced, mixed, downmixed, and released.

I love the 80s and appreciate the artists that came out of that timeframe, however I never bought into Prince. Obviously the fact that he has sold many records is undeniable and commendable, I just don't think he's very good. He is a good musician--again commendable, but JT manipulated the media and the period he made his debut in with extreme skill. JT is very creative, and even though I don't like R&B the fact that he came out with such unique and innovative songs is just as good as Prince, if not surpasses him. Not to mention he is a pretty damn good dancer and probably a better singer than Prince. The real winner of the pop scene is MJ, he could dance, sing, and manipulate the music scene like nobody's business.

Okay, this is WAY late, but I had to comment. Anyone who thinks Justin Timberlake is in any way better than Prince is an idiot. Period. Justin's "new" sound, is a rip-off of JC Chasez's rip-off of Prince. I mean, he can't even be original in his recycling of music. He can't sing, doesn't make great music, hell even his dancing has nothing on Prince back in the day. Yeah, Prince had influences too. Everybody does. But he took their influence and did something of his own with it. Justin took Prince and Michael Jackson's entire freakin' sound! And didn't even do it well! And this isn't coming from some old guy who bought Prince's first album when it was still a new release. This is coming from someone born when Prince was already a legend, who owns every *Nsync album, and who actually listens to Justin Timberlake from time to time. And for whoever said it was a diss to Robin Thicke and not Prince, JT has nothing on him either. He's a pop fixture right now, but, hell, so is Rihanna. That alone should tell you something. They have about the same amount of talent. Sure they're fun to look at, and have made a catchy tune or two, but that's all that can be said for them. Prince is a musical god. I mean the man plays 24 freakin' instruments (more than Flav, btw). He sings, he writes, he's one of the best performers music has ever seen, AND he has more sex appeal in his little finger than mister SEXYBACK has in his entire body. Present: Prince doesnt distribute to mainstream radio stations or any for that matter. He sells primarily on his website. So he gets all the cash instead of like these other artists who are in debt after going multi-platinum. Prince still sells and makes a great living. Prince could do a show in butt fudgin egypt and still get a sold out crowd. Prince is STILL relevant today, and if you seriously dont see that then you arent ass musically inclined as you thought you were. I am 21 and i apreciate all kinds of music and for you people to seriously compare the two is like comparing a nicely brew of 1800 wine to a 2000 wine hott of the shelf. JT is the ish right now not many people can compete, but stack talent to talent Prince is a heavy overcast on him. An artist skill is based on is product and his influence on music itself. Clearly JT is the Genuwine II (just a white version to appeal to the untapped target in R&B/POP) He is the 50 cent of POP. He got everything handed to him on a silver platter all he had to do is sing it and dance it and possibly write a few here and there. What I'm trying to say is he had a perfect outline to success and all he had to do is follow it (i.e 50 cent with Dr. Dre/Eminem). Prince made that outline reformed it to his liking and pioneered internet/website downloads to make Artists get the whole 14.99 per cd(if the artist created the cd himself such as Prince). Not many people can go tell the media they are on tour and get sell out shows no matter where they go. Prince is one of them, so please do some research before you decide to throw mud on Prince's name or any legend.

JT isnt a bad artist he just has a long ways to go before he could ever be considered better or even compared to Prince. Prince is a legend JT is just an Artist, you cant compare the two.
