Girls Releasing New EP, Free Download Of “Heartbreaker” Available Now

Christopher Owens has announced the release of a new EP from Girls, which will be made available on Nov. 22, and is titled Broken Dreams Club. Owens has even penned a letter to his fans ahead of the release, which can be read here. But be warned: it’s handwritten, in a barely readable scrawl. Fortunately, the NME has forced some poor intern to transcribe the whole thing, which reads like this:

“This record is a letter of intent, it’s a snapshot of the horizon. We took the money we’ve made on tour and worked with the kind of equipment and musicians that would have been too expensive for us in the past.

All of us have something to say and give, and this is what happens when we show a little interest and support in others. We couldn’t have made this record without you.

So this is our gift to you, our way of saying thank you for giving us the chance to work at the level we’ve always wanted to, and a taste of things to come. This isn’t Girls all grown up, but it’s certainly the next step up from ‘Album’.”

In addition to this news, the band has given away a track titled “Heartbreaker” from Broken Dreams Club, which can be obtained for the price of an email address in the widget at the end of this post. The full track listing for the EP looks like this:
