When exactly did the police declare Open-Taser Season on "bros"? Pitchfork is reporting that on Friday, November 9, at 10:45 pm, Girl Talk's performance at the Gargoyle Club at St. Louis' Washington University was cut short after an as-yet unnamed 22-year-old student was Tasered in the ass. While it seems that the show was your typical Girl Talk rager, including security removing crowd-goers from the stage, one attendee was being, well''¦that guy. According to an eye-witness report, the man was apparently "under the influence of something" and a repeated nuisance throughout the show, threatening those around him and continuing, at one point, to push bodyguard's buttons by jumping onstage once it had been cleared.
In fact, the man got so wily that the Washington University Police Department got involved, warning the student, who was naked at this point, to pull up his pants or be arrested. He reportedly refused to do so and struggled when officers tried to handcuff him, leading them to threaten to use a Taser to restrain the student. Continuing to resist arrest, WUPD officers made good on their promise- and Tasered him in the ass. Not just once, but twice, with the second Tasering lasting "maybe as long as 20 [seconds]". The man was taken into police custody and Girl Talk's set was ended early.
Had enough yet?
While being unaware of the exact nature of the chaos in the crowd, Gregg Gillis (Girl Talk), promised to make it all up to his audience with a post-show performance. This meant moving things to the basement of a Sigma Alpha Mu frat house, where both Girl Talk and opener Death Set performed, Gillis describing the performance as, "out of control".
Party on, St. Louis.
