Giant Drag's Annie Hardy has set up a Paypal account on the band's Myspace page for anyone to kick in what they can, that is, if you'd like to hear another album from the band. Since releasing debut Hearts And Unicorns in 2006, Giant Drag got dropped from Interscope. Hardy writes on the band's page that people have recommended a Paypal donation button to help "speed this process up (and help me eat the occasional sandwich if I'm lucky)... "
Hardy goes on to write that "soon there will be a Giant Drag ebay store where you can buy all my stuff because I'm not going to have any place to keep my stuff if i don't start making money soon, so you can have it."
Okay, so let's get this straight: Any Paypal funding will go toward speeding up the new process on the album, but also fund an occasional sandwich and apparently your rent as well? All because you got dumped by Interscope? Here's an idea. Why don't you do what every other struggling artist does and get a day job? Unicorns was a great record and it'd be nice to see something new from the Drag, but come the frick on.

I'm fine with what she's doing. Even her fans are the ones that she suggested she do it. Jill Sobule is doing something similar.
