Def Jam held a listening session for Ghostface last night. I don't have much in the way of notes on the listening, but here goes.
- Food - (A-) Sushi, Chicken Wings, BBQ Chicken Strips - Better than what they had at the Nas Hip-Hop Is Dead session.
- Decor/Miscellaneous - (A) The tables had tiny glass bowls with fish in them. They also gave out a short sampler/mix with 8 tracks (Ghost Is Back, Josephine, Return of Ironman, God to God, Crooklyn Dodgers, Freestyle, WE Dem Freestyle, Charlie Brown) on it. Most importantly they gave out the ill promo tee for the album.
- L.A. Reid, J-Love, Theodore Unit, Sun God and Ghostface came through. Ghost was cool enough to walk around the whole place and say what's up to everyone there.
- Sorry, but the only video footage of Ghost talking about the album I have is about 5 seconds long and he basically just announces a track with Sheek Louch on it.
It's difficult to judge an album off a listening party, but the album banged. The tracks were faster although less soulful than Fishscale. Nah Right makes an interesting point that it's more like a Theodore Unit record than Ghostface album.

*My notes on the tracklist got all screwed up during the listening session. Madlib produced either "Blockrock" or "Pokerface", but I'm not sure which. Same deal with MF Doom, he either produced "Alex (Stolen Script)" or "Gotta Hold On".
**In case you missed it the other day. Here's "God to God" ft. Sun God (Ghostface's 17-year old son)

I expect that shirt. Don't make me disappointed.
