After countless rumors, it looks like Ghostbusters 3 is finally on the way. The threequel to the classic ‘80s action-comedy series is set to start filming next summer, although, sadly, without Mr. Peter Venkman himself, Bill Murray. Production for Ghostbusters 3 is scheduled for summer 2013 with Ivan Reitman returning as director and Etan Cohen is currently rewriting a script by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg.
Dan Aykroyd recently gave a little insight into the plot, saying that the film will primarily follow a new, younger group of Ghostbusters. As for the original cast, he says, “My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can’t drive the Cadillac. He’s got a bad knee and can’t carry the packs… Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that’s the promise. We’re gonna hand it to a new generation.” [ComingSoon]
