Do you go to Georgetown University and consistently talk about how Jay-Z is the greatest rapper of all time? Well, you'll have a chance to make your case outside of your dorm room. Consequence of Sound reports that Georgetown is offering a course called "Sociology of Hip-Hop: Jay-Z" that's being led by author Michael Dyson.
Required reading for the class included Jigga's own Decoded (of course) along with Adam Bradley’s Book of Rhymes and Zack O’Malley Greenburg’s Empire State of Mind. Could this be one of the rare times when you won't immediately look to sell your books after the course ends? Probably. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if similar classes start popping up at other colleges and universities. I demand a course that dives into the various alter egos of MF DOOM.
