Can anyone keep track of the various misfortunes that have befallen George Michael in recent times? The amount of drug charges and dangerous driving offenses are piling up, and interviews with the oddball star seem to indicate that he has little regard for his own personal safety.
Michael crashed his car into a photography store in the early hours of July 4 in London, and now he’s facing charges related to that incident. Sadly, it’s an all-too familiar story—police say he has been charged with “drugs and driving offenses,” which include cannabis possession and “driving while unfit through drink or drugs.”
The singer will appear at London’s Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Aug. 24 to face the music, with most of his fans probably hoping that some kind of permanent driving ban will result. He was previously barred from driving for two years in 2007 after pleading guilty to driving while on drugs, but clearly no lessons were learned from that particular infraction.
