It's hard to believe that Portishead's 2008 album, Third, was, well, only its third album. In an interview with The Quietus, Geoff Barrow--who's been busy with new Beak>material, a hip-hop project and a soundtrack with Ben Salisbury--said that he and his Portishead bandmates have been "getting together." He followed that with, "There's definitely going to be another record, we're just going to get on it as soon as my studio gets working."
While you might have doubts about the condition of Barrow's studio given all he's got going on, this announcement comes only four years after the trio's last album. Portishead had 11 years in between its second and third LPs, so consider this early light of new music from Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley. [FACT]
