The bulging mash-up of grindcore fury, digital frippery and airy melodrama on Genghis Tron's first full-length Dead Mountain Mouth (2006) pointed in so many different directions that the band could have gone anywhere with the follow-up. Thank whatever deity you believe in that GT's new album Board Up the House sacrifices nothing of the zaniness of the debut, instead funneling it into bigger, tighter songs. Care to proffer a dissenting opinion? You'll have to listen to the album first. Don't quit yer thankful prayers to aforementioned deity just yet -- Board Up the House is available for free streaming at Genghis Tron's MySpace page, a full week before its February 19th release on Relapse Records.
Listen to Board Up the House now!
