Weenites, take heart. Gene Ween, of the long-lived band that bears his surname, is in good health. The singer/guitarist spent four days in the hospital with pneumonia, and was forced to cancel some of the shows he had scheduled with his side project, the Gene Ween Band. But according to Ween, he's recovering well with the help of "good doctors, nurses and the care of my Jewish Mother." Unfortunately, the three shows he had to cancel in New York and Philadelphia were the last three that were scheduled for this tour (with David Pajo of Tortoise opening, incidentally), so fans will apparently have to wait a bit to catch him again. Fear not, though, the intrepid Ween says he's been enjoying the GWB experience so much that he fully intends "to make up the shows with more to come."
