Your ears may still be ringing from last summer's 77BoaDrum, where the Boredoms got it on with 77 drummers in Dumbo for 77 minutes on (naturally) July 7. This year, while those Japanese noise-makers are embarking on the next step of their conceptual piece with 88BoaDrum on August 8 (do the math) at the La Brea Tar Pits in L.A., they'll be deputizing Brooklyn's own percussive pirates Gang Gang Dance to carry the percussive torch in their native borough. At 8:08 PM (when else?), the Williamsburg waterfront will resound with the roar of guess-how-many drummers. Both ends of the bi-coastal event are free and open to the public, but you'll need a ticket. They're available from Sound Fix in the 'burg and Amoeba Records in L.A., as well as online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
P.S. In more good news for Gang Gang fans, the band has recently completed work on their new album, St. Dymphna, which is set for an October 21 release on Social Registry.

They shoulda planned it for eight cities.
