Gang Gang Dance To Make $$$ From Florence and the Machine

There is no stopping Florence and the Machine. The band won Best British Album at the Brit Awards this week and looks set to achieve something approaching world domination in the next couple of years. Florence’s single “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” played a key role in the band’s success, and it’s partially built on a sample by art rockers Gang Gang Dance.

The Brooklyn band has confirmed that Florence and the Machine has agreed to pay royalties from the song (via the @legup Twitter feed), which marks a distinct change in fortunes for a group that lost its singer in a lightning strike, had all its gear burnt to the ground in Amsterdam, and can’t stop its drummers from getting into potentially life-threateningscraps. Perhaps the curse of Gang Gang is finally over?
