G-Dep Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison For '93 Murder

G-Dep, former Bad Boy rapper and delivery man, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Before he originally plead guilty, Dep--real name Trevell Coleman--actually admitted to the murder of John Henkel, which was committed all the way back in 1993. Fifteen years is on the lighter side of what he could be serving; last September Coleman was facing 15 to a possible life term.

At the court hearing, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus offered up some interesting words in regards to G-Dep's choices. [RR]

The circumstance of your being before the court now suggests to me a maturity and decency that wouldn't have been evident at the time. It was the right thing to do, even though it landed you in the position you find yourself in now.
