Futureheads to Release a "Complicated" Album

Post-punk revivalists The Futureheads are gearing up to release a new album, but they're not revealing much on the subject except to say that they're going in a more "complicated" direction. The new album, which is produced by Martin "Youth" Glover and Field Music's David Brewis, will display less of the band's trademark pop tone.

"It's forked off into two directions, our last album was very direct. With this record we didn't want to do that again, the songs are a lot more complicated. I've had to go back to practicing the guitar to even play half these riffs," offers Futureheads guitarist Ross Millard.

And while that's all well and good, no one in The Futureheads camp seems willing to say more on their upcoming release than "different direction" and "complicated." No word yet on the album's release date. Vague much? [NME]
