Fucked Up to Record Indie Rock Version of "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

Fucked Up have announced that they are going to put their Polaris Prize money to good use: They are going to record a cover of "Do They Know It's Christmas?," the legendary celebrity-heavy shlock fest, with help from Vampire Weekend, David Cross, TV on the Radio, Broken Social Scene, GZA, Bob Mould and No Age. The proceeds from said single will go to charity, and Pink Eyes says they're still waiting on word from the Jonas Brothers to see if they'll be involved. No word on whether or not the single will be ready for this yuletide season or next. [NME]

This can't be a good idea.

So how much irony would be considered a "healthy dose" with which to approach this project?

Predictions:
Sting=Ezra Koenig
Phil Collins=David Cross

I hope David Cross does Bono's pompous "Well tonight thank god it's them..." line.
