Fest mania: fuck yeah, Fuck Yeah is back!

Not to be outdone by neighboring Silver Lake with its Sunset Junction street fair, the Echo Park area of Los Angeles also has its own yearly music festival. It goes by the name of Fuck Yeah, and August 24-26 will bring its fourth incarnation. Amongst those who help put the fest together are Keith Morris of Circle Jerks/Black Flag fame. Highlights of Fuck Yeah IV include No Age, Deerhunter, Busdriver, Boom Bip, Lavender Diamond, Entrance, Times New Viking, Darker My Love, the Mae Shi, Foreign Born, Imaad Wasif, Gris Gris frontman Greg Ashley, Indian Jewelry, the Explosion, Jay Reatard, American Steel, Pissed Jeans, Best Fwends, XBXRX, Langhorne Slim, Great Northern, and Midnight Movies. More big names are expected to be announced between now and the fest. You can head to Fuck Yeah's MySpace for more details, and head on after the jump for the rest of the bands announced so far...

Jeez. Fuck Yeah Fest this year looks insanely better than last year's lineup. And save for Buzzcocks and the Time, it looks better than Sunset Junction, too. Wows.

Oops, must have had the name Morrison on the brain after doing that Travis Morrison post. Or maybe Jim Morrison's ghost is haunting me. Or maybe Val Kilmer's. Is that guy dead yet?

Yeah, China, that's a wowsers lineup. Helped in large part by how much good music is coming out of L.A. right now.My don't-miss tip of the fest has to be Indian Jewelry. I'm still telling people about the amazing opening set they put in for Lavender Diamond at the REDCAT a few months back. You could've closed your eyes and thought you'd been transported back to some classic Sonic Youth, Jesus and Mary Chain, or Velvet Underground concert.

I was at the REDCAT too. What a great show! Both bands killed it.I'm stoked on Wooden Shjips, Pissed Jeans, No Age, Darker My Love, and Best Fwends especially.
