Glasgow's Frightened Rabbit earned themselves a cult following in 2008 with their sophomore album, The Midnight Organ Fight, and have announced plans for their next album, which is scheduled for release in March 2010 on FatCat Records. Entitled The Winter of Mixed Drinks, frontman Scott Hutchison returned to Scotland's Fyfe Coastline to write parts of the album, which is thematically much different than past releases. The Winter of Mixed Drinks is heavy with nautical references, endurance and redemption, because as Hutchison has said, "Nobody wanted to hear more break-up songs, and thankfully, I no longer had any in me."

The single for "Swim Until You Can't See Land" is streaming on FatCat's site and set to be released digitally on Nov. 17, followed by a 7-inch on Dec. 8 with the song "Fun Stuff."
