Freeway recently sat down with CNN's Sarah Hoye as part of their "Belief Blog," a portion of the news company's website dedicated to topics within the realm of religion. While the interview is relatively brief, it allows for the Philadelphia rapper to explain how he balances "his Muslim faith and his credibility as a musician." The most revealing portion comes toward the end. It's then that Freeway reveals that he believes his fans have more to take away from his music now that he's a father and older. I can't say I disagree, but it's not like he's completely moved away from his gangster-ish beginnings just yet. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if his faith plays an even bigger role in future albums, such as his planned second album with Jake One, Diamond in the Ruff.
