How much of what we experience is really real? Is your life a hologram created by a multi-million dollar corporation, or is it “real?” How can you be sure anything is real? Was the Tupac hologram the real Tupac? We are all part of the Matrix.
I bring this up because Queen is apparently going to be doing some shows with an “optical illusion” Freddie Mercury, which is a way of saying hologram Freddie Mercury without saying hologram Freddie Mercury, and apparently, Queen has been working on this for a lot longer than people were working on hologram Tupac.
“It’s a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we’ve been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while”, though he emphasises that unlike Pac, this won’t be a hologram, as “for a show that runs eight shows a week [We Will Rock You] it’s not really quite practical.” “People will come out saying, ‘did we actually see Freddie?’”, May continued, referring to the technique as an “optical illusion of sorts.”
The tour doesn’t have any dates yet, but it’s going to happen, apparently. It’s time to give up resurrecting dead celebrities via optical illusions, rich, alive band members. Figuring out if human existence is real is hard enough. [Fact]
