If acoustic troubadours who push diligently at the outer boundaries of "folk" are your cup of chamomile tea, and you live within hitchiking distance of the Northeast, you can get your freak-folk on with Viking Moses, Golden Ghost, and David Garland.
Mr. Moses and Ms. Ghost, as the New York Times would call them, will be playing a string of Northeast dates together, and they'll be joined on their Philly and Brooklyn gigs by David Garland, making for a holy trinity of the "New Weird American" music.
For the uninitiated, Viking Moses was first introduced to the world at large on the now-legendary Devendra Banhart-curated Golden Apples of the Sun compilation. Golden Ghost is Laura Goetz of neo-psych warriors Castanets, and David Garland is the NYC avant-garde vet whose public radio show has made him the John Peel of freak-folk.
