Franz Ferdinand's LCD Soundsystem cover hits MySpace

It was just announced that "All My Friends," the second single from the justifiably praised LCD Soundsystem album Sound of Silver, will be a multi-edition extras orgy. Velvet Underground legend John Cale and Franz Ferdinand cover the single (on seperate 7" versions) and LCD themselves cover Joy Division's "No Love Lost" and offer up a new "club track" called "Freak Out" (7" and CD versions, respectively). That's quite a spread.
While most of the additional fixin's will have to wait for the multiple May 21st releases, the promised Erol Alkan produced Franz cover is already streaming on LCD's MySpace page. In a move close to James Murphy's heart/record collection, the Scots throw in a dash of warm synths that could have been lifted straight from New Order's Low-Life. The jagged guitar breakdown on the outro adds the Franz signature.
There should be no doubts that Alex Kapranos can relate to the song's "boy, we're getting pretty old" subject matter.
Stumble It!
