Franz Ferdinand reveal new album artwork
The boys from
Franz Ferdinand are slowly unveiling more details about their forthcoming third album,
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand . Live previews of
Tonight songs received a great response, the tracks “Ulysses” and “Lucid Dreams” have already been previewed online, and a brief December tour will give a better idea of what to expect from the record.
Now the album artwork has been revealed, and can be
viewed exclusively on NME.com. Drummer Paul Thomson has explained their motivations behind the neo noir-esque picture that adorns the cover. "We shot it just after midnight behind the Barrowlands Ballroom in Glasgow,” he said. “We wanted to get a Weegee vibe – that famous New York crime scene photographer from the '40s and '50s."
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is due for release by Domino on January 27, 2009.
