A version of ATP curated by Belle & Sebastian took place in the U.K. this past weekend, which provided a neat end to the organization’s 10-year celebrations, as the band put together the first proto-ATP show that inspired Barry Hogan to radically overhaul our expectations of such events.
Belle & Sebastian had promised some “special guests” would be performing over the weekend, and they weren’t wrong, as their fellow Scots Franz Ferdinand made a comeback via a performance on the Centre Stage on Saturday (Dec. 11). The announcement of their performance was mostly kept under wraps prior to the event, which is a rarity these days.
Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy from the band also appeared with Edwyn Collins on a couple of tracks during the festival, with the former staying on-stage to help the Orange Juice singer with his most famous solo song, “A Girl Like You.” And with Teenage Fanclub providing Collins with his backing band, many folks will no doubt be hoping footage of that performance surfaces online in the next few days.
Franz Ferdinand set list at ATP:
Cheating On You
Shopping For Blood
Tell Her Tonight
Walk Away
