Frank Ocean Announces Album 'channel ORANGE,' Release Date Set For July 17

Frank Ocean is up to something, although it’s not exactly clear what it is just yet. The singer uploaded a short clip of a new song to his Tumblr today, and already a number of websites are guessing that this could herald the release of his debut album. The video mostly focuses on a car before the following text appears on-screen: “Channel Orange 7.17.12.” Could that be the name and release date of Ocean’s new record? He’s not saying, so expect plenty of speculation until official word arrives.  

Update: We've just received confirmation from Def Jam. Frank Ocean's upcoming album is entitled channel ORANGE and will be released on July 17.
