Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler makes final plea to rejoin band in L.A. courthouse

I’ve always felt great pity towards original Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler: He was kicked out of the band for having a drug problem by three other dudes with equal or worse drug problems. Adler then took off on a quick ride to self-destruction, a worsening drug habit, and a stroke.

But the guy is still broken up about the fact that he got kicked out of the band almost 20 years ago. He cried about it in a recent episode of Celebrity Rehab, and now he’s taken to asking for the band to take him back in L.A. criminal courts: On Friday, when facing drug charges stemming from a July arrest, Adler told the judge he’d like to go to rehab, and then re-form with GNR. How the judge can facilitate that is unclear, but here’s what Adler’s attorney had to say:

"When he gets sober they'll (Guns N Roses) accept him into the band and then they'll do a comeback album and a world tour - that's the dream of Steven Adler."

That’s a hell of a dream, considering Slash, Duff, and Izzy can’t even get in the band anymore. But now that Chinese Democracy may actually be seeing store shelves, maybe Axl will see it in his dreaded (hah, pun) heart to let Adler back in the band. It’s unlikely, but what else does Adler have to look forward to these days? The Celebrity Rehab reunion show with Gary Busey? [NME]

He'll never get back in. Axl is too much like Michael Jackson to think about anyone else other than himself. He is an egotistical selfish person. Guns was never just his band and he weaseled his way into making it just his band by screwing over the other artists who formed it. He is now just some freak who has had way too much plastic surgery and other augmentations to ever be the frontman he once was and by the way THE NEW ALBUM SUCKS! The songs are crap! Those songs are not rocknroll at all! The rock left with Izzy Duff and Slash but mostly it left with Izzy.

Thats cool that they might accept adler back in but i do not think the new album sucks the songs are not crap i will admit alot of Guns N Roses Left when duff izzy and slash left but Guns N Roses is still good i think axls done a good job

This album has taken 17 years to make..It better F@#$%&ng good..great..amazing..than anything you ever heard before...but probably not, it can't just all right! It's got to be wild! Like 'Welcome to The Jungle!' otherwise it's a bunch BS. Get the old band back and rock out, all the drugs, booze, women, fights, that's what was great about GnR..and that's what's great about Rock n Roll

The new album is alright. No where near the GNR we are all use to. GNR was always my favorite band. I guess that why I'm so disappionted in the long awaited new album. Its not totally bad, just not up to par for what we like in GNR.

The break-up of a band is similar to the break-up of a marriage. In the long run, it's better to leave things "as is". Then again, some divorced couples get back together on special occasions---and create MAGIC!!

Axl is still a nut case freak all these years later, you'd think his plastic head would have come out of his ass by this stage, he cant blame like 15 people anymore for his own f*ck ups.....

I think Axl has a huge ego and a attitude to go with it. It turns me off of him so I probably won't by his album. As far as Steven Adler goes (women beater) even if he did get back with them he would screw it up again with drugs and booze. It's a given that he will, he has alot of issues about his mother and his life in his head and until he resolves that he will never be sober and as a result die from his addictions. It's sad because he is a talented human being. (and not to mention handsome).

axl...do yourself a favor and get SOMEONE to teach you a dance step or two...that stupid ghost-like swaying thing you do is even more irritating than your singing.
actually there's only one bigger problem that i can see...as lame as gnr is there are TONS and i mean TONS of other bands that are even worse that are making loads of moolah!---sad commentary on the music scene of today...GNR sux but is still better than ANY rap!

I could understand if it was tough love however they kicked him out and they have drug problems themselves. I think Guns N Roses made it big due to having the right people in the band at the right time. They rocked!! They will never be the same. I surely hope Steve Adler gets the help he needs so he can stay clean. On sober house he brought in drugs the first day and instead of putting him back into treatment and starting over again they allowed him to stay in sober living. Big huge mistake. He is and always will be a talented man. You can see the sweetness in him however that cannot shine due to him not getting the treatment and help he needs.
