Two months ago, we were bringing to light the fact that metal giants Anthrax were given their very own day in their native Bronx, N.Y. But now, things aren't so cheery in the band's camp, because it's been revealed that former frontman Dan Nelson is suing the band for $2.65 million.
Why? Because he wasn't happy about the way the rest of the band handled his departure from the band in 2009. Apparently they said that he left due to an illness, but Nelson attests that's not the truth. Also, he's pissed that they called him a bully in an interview.
According to Exclaim, he "is alleging that he lost income and that his reputation was blighted due to this "intentional defamation" from his former bandmates." He's also claiming that they didn't pay him for his work on the Worship Music album, even though his vocals don't appear on it. He says that he wrote the parts, though, and wants his scrilla. Hmph, what an interesting day for metal, no?
