As 2012 is winding down, a lot of end of year lists, like best album, best song, best artist etc., will be start being published. Forbes (via Hypebot) got a head start on the competition when they named their Top 6 grossing dead musicians of 2012.
The four musicians at the top of the list should come as no surprise since you’re likely to have heard or seen them somewhere during the past year. Michael Jackson tops the list by earning a whopping $145 million for his estate, followed by Elvis Presley ($55 million), Bob Marley ($17 million) and John Lennon ($12 million).
Rounding out the list are composer Richard Rogers ($6 million) and George Harrison ($5.5 million).
