Foals express unhappiness with their Antidotes

Foals’ debut album Antidotes is currently scoring a 6.4 average on the Prefix scale. But what do the band themselves think about their nascent stab at setting their ideas in wax? Singer Yannis Philippakis has previously talked about the somewhat strained relationship the band built up with producer David Sitek, and he’s expressed further reservations in a new interview with BBC 6Music.

“We don't feel like Antidotes was an insurmountable record by any means," said Philippakis. The band remixed the record after becoming disenchanted with Sitek’s original mix of Antidotes. But now it seems they have also tired of the version that was released in April this year. Philippakis went on to say: "To us it sounds flawed. We just wanna make a different record." The band is currently considering options for the second Foals record, but Sitek won’t be on board. “We don't really feel like we've found the one person to work with,” said the singer. [NME]
