Flying Lotus Wants To Work With Kanye West

Prolific beat-maker Flying Lotus is in the midst of a press tour for his new album You’re Dead!, which is garnering acclaim from just about every outlet that’s given it a look. In an interview with Newsweek, the producer talked about collaborating with Snoop Dogg and Herbie Hancock, the meaning behind the album’s unique concept, and who else he would like to work with in the future; as it turns out, he really wants to work with Kanye West.

When asked if he’d ever want to work with the illustrious rapper, FlyLo responded:

I’ve been trying, man! I feel like, at this point, it’s been expressed enough. He knows where I’m at.

When asked about the rapper’s wild 2013 album Yeezus:

I should have been on it. It was kind of weird that I wasn’t. Just being totally real, not on some ego shit…. I was like, “They didn’t even call!”… That’s my favorite one of his albums. I really wish I was part of it.

Unfortunately it sounds like Kanye didn’t reach out to FlyLo for the follow-up to Yeezus either, which is apparently already in its later stages.

You’re Dead! is out October 7 via Warp, and it’s looking like one of the biggest records of the year. Catch Flying Lotus out on tour (dates here) and check out the recently released video for album cut “Never Catch Me” featuring Kendrick Lamar:
