At the end of the second season of their TV show, the fictional Flight of the Conchords head back to New Zealand, seemingly for good. In real life, the Flight of the Conchords are just taking a year off, trying to decide what to do. The band, according to Rhys Darby (aka Murray, their manager), is going to take a year off, and then reconvene to decide what to do. Darby says the group might do a one-off Christmas special, make a full-length movie, another season, or just quit completely (hopefully it's not that last one). HBO's official position is that they'd like the guys to do another season, but they're uncommitted.
One project is certain: the band's sophomore album, I Told You I Was Freaky, is due out on Oct. 20 via Sub Pop. [Aversion]
