When I clicked on Fleet Foxes Myspace blog post entitled "Merriweather Post Pavilion worship," I half expected a sharp criticism of the fact that the independent music press and pretty much everyone with ears has been living on their knees since Animal Collective released their latest, and the mass-fellatio began.

Instead, Fleet Foxes, or (the member who wrote the post) just gushed about their love of Animal Collective, their love of Merriweather Post Pavilion, and how, similar to Martin Luther King, they dream of a world where instead of Duffy and The Killers, the roster for SNL looked more like "Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Department of Eagles, Panda Bear, Joanna Newsom (gimme new songs plz), Vetiver, Cave Singers, etc etc etc etc etc etc on the show and that was the new paradigm?"

That would be a brave new world indeed.
