Decemberist Funk branches out with interesting side project

No, it's not another appearance on Colbert. It's Flash Hawk Parlour Ensemble. That's the odd name of Funk's side project. Its first album (cover at left), Plastic Bag in the Tree, is scheduled for release May 15 on Hush Records. The set includes two very intriguing covers: Radiohead's "Amnesiac/Morning Bell" and Massive Attack's "Teardrop." Funk also reworks songs by Fleetwood Mac, Norman Blake, and Pseudosix, as well as providing plenty of original songs.
