The Flaming Lips have announced plans to cover Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety on New Year's Eve. The tribute, which which kicks off at midnight in Oklahoma City's Cox Center, will feature appearances by Stardeath and White Dwarfs, who, along with Henry Rollins and Peaches, will be playing on a recorded version of the project. The band urges that all humans attend the concert, billed as "New Year's Eve Freakout!!." Robby the Robot, R2D2, and Bender, find your kicks elsewhere. [Pitchfork

This actually sounds like the perfect New Year's Eve activity. The blow-up human hamster ball routine will fit right in with Dark Side, too.
