Five artists design covers for N.A.S.A. album

N.A.S.A. have been all about artistic collaboration-- seeing as their album has roughly 600 contributors (I'm exaggerating), including Lykke Li, Santogold, M.I.A., and many others. But the group is taking that spirit of collaboration to the cover of their debut album, Spirit of Apollo, as they have commissioned five artists--Shepard Fairey, of Obama poster fame, Sage Vaugh, a graffiti artist, The Date Farmers, Marcel Dzama, and Mark Gonzalez, a former skateboarder--to make interchangeable covers for the album. Shepard Fairey's cover is to your left, and you can scope the other covers by going here.

The group has also announced plans to release two skateboard decks to commemorate the release of Apollo, one done by The Date Farmers for Girl, and one by the in-house team at Chocolate. Each deck will come with download cards for the album.

Spirit of Apollo is due out on February 17 via Anti-.
