Blogger Kevin Cogill may have usurped Guns N’ Roses’ plans for exclusivity in relation to their new album, Chinese Democracy. But while Cogill awaits trial and a possible five-year jail sentence for leaking tracks from the album, radio station Q104.3 has got an exclusive stream of the title track from the album. It’s a short, plodding song with lots of build-up at the start. It bears most of the classic Guns N’ Roses hallmarks, despite the lack of any original members besides Axl Rose. On the first few listens it’s pretty baffling why it took this long for Axl to come up with something that sounds like he’s on GN’R autopilot. There’s also a voiceover by Q104.3 early in the song, presumably to deter people from sharing the song online.
You can hear “Chinese Democracy” here.
