It's a riddle no more. The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, which earlier this week teased fans online with cryptic riddles about what bands might play this year's event, has now announced its initial 2008 lineup. The long list includes diverse music from the likes of Pearl Jam, Metallica, Kanye West, My Morning Jacket, M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, B.B. King, Drive-By Truckers, Sigur Ros, Gogol Bordello, Lupe Fiasco, Mastodon, Ladytron, Battles, and Nicole Atkins. That's just the tip of the iceberg, and there are still more acts to be announced later.
No Led Zeppelin reunion, as had been rumored, but Robert Plant will be there with Alison Krauss, as will all-female Zep cover band Lez Zeppelin. And comedy will again have a large presence at Bonnaroo, with David Cross, Zach Galifianakis, Janeane Garofalo, Brian Posehn and others on hand to yuk it up. Tickets go on sale February 16 at noon at bonnaroo.com, where you can also see the complete list of bands announced so far.

jack inslee
just seeing the acronym O.A.R. makes me wish i were deaf.
what about the good stuff?
Orchestra Baobab, Solomon Burke, Sigur Ros, Levon Helm, My Morning Jacket, Battles, The Sword, Mastadon?! Id say this is a great initial lineup, and it doesnt even include alot of the hip hop they will announce, and/or the Blue Note Jazz tent which last year had tons of legends. Plus, my 8th grade self totally wants to see Metallica.
