Ferraby Lionheart takes on an R.E.M. classic

Last week we pointed you towards Stereogum's latest bands-covering-an-album's-every-song project, Drive XV, a redux of R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People (and extensively discussed the Meat Puppets' handling of "Everybody Hurts"). Stereogum promised it would follow up the initial track list with alternate takes of some songs done by different artists. Today the site posted a version of "Man on the Moon" by Los Angeles troubadour on the rise Ferraby Lionheart. (Did you catch a song of his on Gossip Girl the other week? Not watching Gossip Girl? Well, you're not missing much, to be honest.) Lionheart puts in a much more subdued cover than did the Shout Out Louds, as the track consists only of his voice and acoustic guitar. Take a listen here.
