Indie crush object Leslie Feist gets a nice write up from estimable New Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones in this week’s issue. He gives us some interesting tidbits from her Canadian background. That sultry voice we’re so fond of? May not be as much Feist trying to sound sexy as it is a result of shredding her vocal chords in a punk band when she was a teen. Frere-Jones then goes on to call The Reminder a mature accomplishment and discuss a March concert at a small church in Toronto where Feist debuted much of The Reminder‘s material. Fans should definitely check it out.
