Norman Cook knows a thing or two about pseudonyms. A quick glance at the Fatboy Slim Wikipedia page reveals a few of his guises. It’s not surprising that the public never took to Son of a Cheeky Boy, but even the seemingly innocuous “Norman Cook” isn’t his real name. Quentin Leo Cook’s therapist must put in some long hours. Cook seemed to settle on Fatboy Slim as a permanent moniker following his success with ubiquitous big beat classics such as “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Right Here, Right Now.” But, as the Guardian reports, Cook is dumping the Fatboy and moving on to an as-yet unknown alias. “Yes, I am ditching the Fatboy Slim name,” says Cook, “but I can't tell you the new one." R.I.P. Fatboy Slim. Let’s hope the new name is better than Yum Yum Head Food.
